What we collect, and why

To create your child's book we collect: the child's first name and gender (to produce grammatically correct Icelandic text), an optional age, one photograph of the child (to generate the book's illustrations), your email address (to deliver the finished book and communicate about your order), and payment details, handled directly by our payment processor – we never see or store your card number.

How long we keep it

The original photograph you upload, and any facial data derived from it, is deleted automatically 14 days after your order is fulfilled. Order records (name, chosen story, delivered files) are kept for accounting and support purposes for as long as required by Icelandic law, after which they are deleted.

If you start a book and don't finish it, we delete everything you entered – including your child's name and any photo – 30 days after you started. Where a name needs checking by hand against Icelandic grammar rules, we keep it in that checking queue for up to 90 days after it's resolved, so we can correct a disputed spelling. Nothing in either case is kept beyond those periods.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your data, get a copy of what we hold about you, or correct anything that's wrong, at any time – contact us using the details below and we'll respond within 30 days.

Who we share data with

We never sell your data or use your child's photo to train any AI model. We share only what's required with our payment processor (to take payment) and our delivery partner (to ship a printed book, once that's available). Nobody else gets it.
